Villagepark House Design by Eat Architects
This house is located in Parkville, this Eat Architects project was finished in 2008 and it wins “Colour in Residential” awards. The site was formerly used to accommodate the athletes for Melbourne’s 2006 commonwealth games. Alterations were made to accommodate a new north facing living area. The ceiling height was about raised to heighten the sense of space as well as to capture more northern light. From entering the main door to experiencing the full impact of the living area, the concept was about the changing levels of privacy, light and rhythm. The oversized daybed and kitchen acts as a central conversation piece, tying together the entire project.
